Falling for you...

Hello all,
I am here with my second post today. I had planned this post for tomorrow but couldn't resist the excitement of sharing this card. The inspiration picture of Runway inspired challenge is awesome as always:

The color combination of orange, blue, pink, silver and black is just awesome and that pattern on sleeves and shoes is sooo beautiful,I wanted to create it as it is. The challenge was I did not have any stamp set which was even close match to this pattern. So I hand drew this pattern as shown in the following picture and colored with my Faber castell sketch pens. It was so much fun to draw with pencil and color it. It reminded me of my school days.:)

It did take time to create it but I was happy with the out come. I used my black gel pen to outline this pattern. Now you wanna see what did I do with this?? Okay.. Have a look..

I die cut these florals (Impression Obsession's Hollyhocks Die) from this hand made pattern paper and they looked very beautiful. Where as I was happy with these florals:  I had no idea of next step :P One thing was clear in my mind I wanted to include both orange and silver colors in my design. So I took a white card stock masked its borders (1/4"approximate) and sponged with Ripe persimmon distress ink keeping more intensity of color at the edges. I kept the central part lighter to resemble the inspiration picture. Now I wanted to give hints of silver color as in the dress and as Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge is going on  with stencil focus I thought of using a stencil. I used chevron stencil from Heidi Swapp, positioned it over card stock and applied some versamark ink directly. Then sprinkled with silver embossing powder and heat set it. O My God It looked perfect to me!! Now when I was happy with the background I started looking for the sentiment in my supplies and I found the Die Version's Falling for you die and one more idea popped up in my mind. I wanted to give some look of falling flowers.:) I die cut the sentiment and trimmed it as I wanted it to be ( its a die with circular boundary). I also die cut some more flowers from holyhocks die out of the same handmade pattern paper. and adhered every thing to the card stock as shown in the picture. Hope I am making sense :P   Next, I provided a black backing to the panel and adhered to white card base. And, that finishes my card. Here are some more pictures of the card taken from different angles:

Big, Bold, small,italic...

Hello everybody,

Today's card has been designed keeping stenciling in mind. This week's Simon Says Stamp Wednesday  challenge is focusing on stencils. Stencils are one of my favorite craft supply and here is my card using one

I have used Mixed up Alpha stencil from The Crafters Workshop (TCW) to create a beautiful background which is sooo appropriate for the sentiment. I started with a white card stock 1/4"smaller than card base and positioned the stencil over it in desired way. I took out seedless preserves distress ink and sponged over stencil with the help of mini blending tool. This color is so beautiful that I am kinda in love with this color. :) Since background is quite busy, to pop up the sentiment I stamped it over white label ( Sizzix framelit) and provided matting by adhering it to a dark pink label. Sentiment is from Lots of love stamp set from Avery Elle.To assemble the card I foam mounted the background panel over card stock first and then foam mounted the sentiment. Then I drew a dotted line as well as out line around the sentiment with my white gel pen to finish the card. So this was my card for today.. Hope you like it.

Nothing compares to you..

Hello everybody..
This is a late night post so pardon me for any mistakes :) I love speech bubbles a lot so thought of using my chat bubble die from Penny Black and came up with this card:

I started with blue card stock 1/4 "smaller than card base. This card stock has some beautiful texture. I die cut two chat bubbles  ( oval and square ) out of it to create two windows and put it on card base and marked the out line with a pencil. I took two small pieces of pattern paper and adhered them to card base with the help of outlines so that they become background of bubble windows. I stamped some paisleys in the left corner of this card stock with turquoise color box pigment ink and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. They look gorgeous!! Then I die cut one more chat bubble (rectangular) out of white card stock, stamped the sentiment from Penny Black (from the heart) and distressed its edges. Now comes the assembling part: I foam mounted this complete panel on my card base so that there is some depth in chat bubble windows.Further I  foam mounted that sentiment bubble over it to give it some dimension.and at last, to finish the card I used my favorite embellishments i.e. enamel dots!! That completes my card for today.. Hope you like it.

Thanks for stopping by. I would really appreciate any feedback from you.

You are cool..

Hello everybody,
I just love CAS style and decided to participate in CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge # 122. The sketch is so beautiful and so is each project from design team. Here is the sketch:

An following is my take on this:

Do you like it? :) Well, I started with a stripe of white card stock and stamped the sentiment ( incognito stamp set from Paper Smooches) on it ,cut banner out of it and distressed its edges with black soot distress inks. Then I took another stripe of white card stock and stamped a border from mama elephant basic borders  in black memento on it. I trimmed this also in the shape of banner. Next step was to make the embellishment. For that I chose  glasses die from paper smooches and die cut it  3-4 times in two colors black and yellow.I kept the frame yellow and lenses black keeping the sentiment in my mind. I stacked all die cuts with glue and tadaa!! my embellishment was ready. I assembled everything on white card base and to give some dimension to it, I foam mounted the sentiment and embellishment. That finishes my card for today.
Hope you like it and would really appreciate if you leave your feedback in comments.

MY Life is rich because... version II

Hey all,
Here I am again with my second entry to both Runway inspired challenge # 83 and  Create your own background by Winnie & walter and Pinkfresh studio.

The inspiration picture is as following

And here is my second card inspired from the same picture..

I was happy with my earlier card also but wanted to do some experiments with background, wanted to give it softer look. and I came up with this card :)
I started with white color card stock and stamped various flowers and leaves from different stamp sets ( wplus9, stampenduous, Itsy Bitsy.) and colored them with picked raspberry and ripe persimmon distress inks. This time I kept some space between blooms and to give a very soft look to whole background I used spun sugar distress ink to color complete panel.  OMG!! It looks awesome..
I chose this sentiment again from Big, bold and you stamp set from Winnie&walter and heat embossed it in silver on a black stripe. First adhered the colored panel to black card base and then pasted the black stripe ( sentiment on it) to the panel. and that completes my card.
hope you like it too..:)

My life is rich because..

Hello all..
I had planned this post for tomorrow but couldn't resist myself from sharing this card. Both Runway inspired challenge # 83 and winnie & walter with Pinkfresh Studio make your own background challenge are going on. So I took inspiration from the costume by Adam Lippes  and designed my own background..:)
Have a look at the inspiration picture first

And now my card

I got my inspiration from the color combination in the inspiration picture. What a beautiful combination of black base and colorful blooms here and there.. I just loved it.. let me come to my card now.. I started with white card stock and pulled out my all floral stamps from all brands I have. ( Stampenduos, Wplus9, some stamps from Itsy Bitsy) I  chose few out line stamps and few solid stamps and started stamping with them randomly. I purposefully used black archival for this as I had Planned to water color it later and archival doesn't bleed :) After stamping lot of blooms and leaves closely I started water coloring. I used festive berries, spiced marmalade, peacock feathers and seedlees preserves distress inks one by one, smooshed them over acrylic block and colored the panel here and there.  I had so much fun doing this :)
After drying this panel I adhered it to a black card base. As mothers day is approaching only this sentiment came to mind. Moreover this beautiful floral background was requesting me to put some sentiment dedicated to all wonderful moms :P So I took a black stripe and stamped the sentiment in versamark. Later I sprinkled silver embossing powder and heat set it. I looked awesome against black. May Be I should try it more :)
To finish my card I adhered this stripe slightly tilted to the card and that completes my card for today.

You are awesome

Hello everybody,

I am here with a card which I have designed for a  card sketch challenge which is being organized by both Winnie & Walter and Pinkfresh  Studio. Sketch is as following

And my take on this sketch is

I started with white card base and and stamped some borders from Mama elephant basic borders stamp set in  my new London fog memento ink. I was not happy with the shade since it was lighter than expected. So I took one grey color sketch pen from Faber Castell and did overwriting on my stamped image. Oh my God!! now it was as good as I wanted.
I die cut a circle out of white card stock and stamped the word awesome again and again in black memento, distressed it a little on edges with black suit and pasted on stamped borders. Then I stamped the sentiment from Winnie & Walter  Big, bold and you stamp set.  This big , bold sentiment is giving the effect of magnifying lens ( not perfect I know :) ) as if somebody is trying to read and heor she finds out its you are awesome.. lolz.. Hope I am making sense..

May a ranbow run beside you

Hello everybody..
I like to use those sentiments on my cards which make them suitable for any day and the sentiment used in today's card is just awesome and fulfills that criteria as well.  Here is today's card

I wanted my design to match with sentiment so first of all sponged some colors of distress inks . I chose Ripe persimmon, squeezed lemonade, mowed lawn, salty ocean and chipped sapphire colors of distress inks. Since the sentiment says may a rainbow run besides you I wanted to incorporate some live elements as well. So I placed the Butterfly Magic die  on white card stock and passed it through my big shot to get this beautiful white die cut with flowers and butterfly. I adhered it to card base. I wanted to give it a appearance of window so took a card stock of the size of card front and cut a window in it with craft knife. Then I stamped the sentiment from wplus9  guiding light sentiments on it and foam mounted this window panel on my card base. That completes my card for today.
It looks so cheerful.. Hope you like it too..would really appreciate your comments..

You ROCK

Hi everybody,
This time I am here with a super cool card. I am appreciating it myself :P I believe artists are like that only. So first, let's have a look at it..

The day I saw Keep on Rockin' stamp set from MFT , I immediately fell in love with this. It has been designed so thoughtfully that almost every sentiment amazes me. Lets come to the card now :) So I started with a white card stock 1/8"smaller than my card base. Then I took equalizer stencil form MFT  and fixed it over card stock with washi tapes and sponged with darker to lighter shades of  blue distress inks. I used chipped sapphire, salty ocean and tumbled glass colors. Then I stamped the sentiment from Keep on Rocking stamp set and mounted the panel on blue card base. I wanted this card to look masculine so chose blue color. I , then die cut the smaller headphone from headphone die  and foam mounted it to give it a 3D look :) Ans tadaa.. My card is complete.

I liked this card a lot. Hope you also like it.
